Mobile learning is growing: 52% of leaders expect to invest in mobile training content in 2019…

A June survey by the Chief Learning Officer Business Intelligence Board shows that 52% of those responsible for preparing a company's workforce for future jobs expect to invest in mobile learning content and increase its use as a learning method in 2019.
This clearly illustrates how mobile learning is establishing itself as a learning method for the future, particularly compared with 2014, when only 12% of online learning was directed at mobile devices.
Today, that figure is 76%, with scale and efficiency the main reasons chief learning officers favor this approach. More than half of respondents—54%—say an important factor is mobile learning's ability to reach a large audience with few resources. Cost savings follow at 36%.
Efficient, inexpensive reach is not the only reason to invest in mobile learning platforms. Mobile learning is expanding into content areas ranging from interpersonal skills such as leadership to hard technical skills.
The learning industry has therefore reached a turning point in its use of mobile platforms and approaches to employee learning. It is very unlikely to turn back.
