Discover how digital technologies and on-demand platforms are changing content consumption and challenging companies to adapt. Despite the challenges in Latin America, mobile learning and gamification help businesses integrate technology into their strategies, empower employees and build a digital culture…

**Digital culture has transformed many sectors, giving users access to on-demand content. Platforms such as Netflix and Spotify illustrate this shift, putting consumers in control of how, when and where they consume content. This trend extends to financial services, transportation, retail and more, optimizing resources and offering consumers new possibilities.**
As the annual Accenture Technology Vision 2017 report, which predicts major technology trends for the coming years, points out, people are no longer simply adapting to technology: users are taking control so that technology adapts to their needs.
The same is happening in the corporate world. The digital age is changing how business is done. In the digital age, companies need to become intelligent: intelligent in making the most of their resources, adapting to the new digital environment and redefining their relationships with employees.
Integrating changes focused on digital culture
According to the report, adapting businesses to the new digital environment will require adopting available technologies. Technology alone will not be the decisive factor. What matters is the transformation toward a digital culture present in every process, every area and every person in the company.
A clear strategic vision is therefore needed when adopting new technologies to drive this paradigm shift more effectively. However, Latin American companies still have a long way to go in defining their digital strategies.
In Chile, for example, only 2 out of 10 companies are investing in digital technologies as an integral part of their business strategy. Nevertheless, most IT and business executives in Chile agree with the global view that companies must innovate rapidly to survive and remain competitive in the digital age.
Integrating technology into companies
Today's tools and platforms make adopting new technology within a company considerably faster and easier.
For example, applications designed to improve employees' business performance offer a path toward this new paradigm, with the person—in this case, the employee—at the center. Mobile learning, gamification and real-time performance metrics put technology at the employee's service.
This gives users the opportunity to learn and train, improve their performance and stay motivated each day, while feeling part of the organization they work for.
